Your Child’s First Day Of School - Continued

If you know of another child that will be in your child’s class try arranging a play date with that classmate.  This will give both children a little comfort when entering the classroom for the first day.

This is such a big occasion in your child’s life so be sure to take lots of picture so you both remember this date long into his college days.  Your child will have these pictures to share with your grandchild on their first day of school.

When your child returns home from his first day of school be sure to have a little celebration.  You may have to work, as many of us do, but take off if at all possible.  If taking off is not possible be sure, when you return home from work, to make your child’s day a very big priority.   Talk with you child but most importantly listen to your child.  Have him explain what he did throughout his day, what friends that he made and about his teacher.

This day will not be the easiest day in your life but a great step in educating your child for the future to come.  Be encouraging and hold back those tears until your child leaves than you can let loose until his return trip home to you.
