• Be sure not to talk too much.  When we are in a situation where we want to get to know someone, we can easily find ourselves babbling on continuously.  Take a second and think before you start pouring out your life history.

• When dressing be sure to wear something that you look fabulous in but not ridiculous.  If you wear a dress that is so skin tight that your afraid to sit down for fear that it might rip than you look absurd.  If the last clean shirt you have is one that has armpit stains so you have to remember not to raise your arm too much or it’ll show than you need to rethink the way you dress.

I hope this list of do’s and don’ts help you go further than the first date.  Today many people are choosing to visit dating services, online dating sites or dating ads in the local papers.  This is a convenient way to weed out some unwanted qualities such as previously married, an individual with children, and smokers vs. non-smokers.  This sometimes is not the best way to start a relationship, you will have to strongly believe that the other person is giving you accurate information about themselves, nothing stops them from lying and being untruthful. 

No matter how you meet the first date is inevitable.  So keep in mind the dos and don’ts and have fun!
