Spring Gardens. Tips for Preparing - ContinuedContinued from Spring Gardens. Tips for PreparingOnce you have decided where you are going to build your garden, the size of your garden, what type of garden you want, and what plants you want to grow in your garden you can move on and find the best prices on your garden seeds, plants and supplies! December, January and February are the months that you should be ordering your seeds. This is because some seeds do sell out so fast, because some companies only ship at certain times of the year, and because this ensures delivery in time so that you have them in case the spring growing season starts earlier than the almanac might plan out. Starting seeds in the house is not as difficult as you might think. It is important to remember that some seeds need soaked before planting, that some require very little soil, and other need very little water. Be sure to research the seeds you are planting so that every one of your little seeds will become a seedling in just a week or two! Most all plants are planted indoors about a month, sometimes two before the last frost is expected. So if you are expecting your last frost in May, you can plant your seeds indoors in the months of March and April for a great jump on garden plants. Once your weather breaks, you can start turning the soil, planting your seeds or seedlings and then you can sit back and relax, waiting for your new gardens to grow!
