Redesign Your Children’s Rooms Cheap! - Continued

Continued from Redesign Your Children’s Rooms Cheap!

Purchase the same material for the curtains.  A simple straight valance is so easy and cheap to make so why would you want to purchase one for $30 or more when you can make the same thing for a small fraction of that.  You don’t even have to be a professional to sew up a valance you’ve probable have sewn a more complex project in home-economics class.  You could also add a fun touch to the window blinds by placing large stickers or wall paper on them and then cutting along the lines of the blinds to allow them to open up.

Material could also be tacked or hot glued around a lampshade to extend the touch to other bedroom items.  Adding a touch to already existing items will give the room a new look but save the cost of purchasing new.

To keep your child’s room neat and organized purchase plastic crates such as milk crates.  These crates come in various colors such as pastel and primary colors.  You can stack the crates and connect them together with zip ties to keep them study and safe.  These crates can be purchased at discount dollar store for a total of a few dollars for all.

When decorating or redecorating keep one thing in mind, never spend a large amount of money on decorating because before you know it you’ll be doing it all over.  Make the most out of the items you already have instead of purchasing new.
