Recovering from Major Disappointment - ContinuedContinued from Recovering from Major DisappointmentLook for the positive side to things. Perhaps you have lost a loved one who was in pain, remember they are not dealing with the pain any longer. Perhaps you wrecked the car, but you would like to buy a new one anyway. Perhaps you didn’t get that prize that you really wanted, but there are still so many methods of getting that prize! What ever your disappointment is you really need to sit back, look at the negatives and the focus on the positives there are many things about every situation that can be turned around and brought to a new better light. To avoid feeling to disappointed about any situation don’t let your expectations get the best of you. For example, you really want this one job. You have been interviewed twice, and you have a friend who works there. Remember that nothing is ever guaranteed in life, and if you don’t get the job you will have better interview experience for the next try at it. There is always going to be someone who knows someone, another applicant that is better qualified or someone who is willing to work for less. Keep in mind that when you don’t get what you want, that you can take your life experiences to another level and make more out the situation. I am a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason. While it may take me two or three days, weeks or even months to figure out why something happened, I don’t let it get me down too much. I just keep on trying to pursue what I want and need and how I can get it. If you are having problems getting over a major disappointment in your life, look forward to the future, think about what you have accomplished in life so far, and where you want your life to head to. Write down the goals and objectives of how you are going to over come this problem and then put your mind into working on it!
