Quick and Easy Chicken Soup - Continued

Continued from Quick and Easy Chicken Soup

Another tasty ingredient to add to your chicken soup is rice.  Rice makes chicken soup or any kind of soup for that matter so good and will help fill you up a little more. Put that all together and let it simmer on low in the crock-pot.  The usual time is about forty-five or fifty minutes to let that cook. You need to let it cook long enough for the noodles to get soft and to let all the ingredients cook together.

The best part about using the crock-pot is that you can smell it all cooking together and that makes it hard to wait. If you have more time, you could start the soup anytime and let it cook over low heat and that way everything cooks together more and you can go and get whatever else you need to get done without worrying about your soup.  Just make sure that you add enough broth or water.

You can always add your own ingredients that you normally do and really the only difference is that you haven’t stood over the stove all day stirring and watching the soup.  Just make sure that you keep adding chicken broth or even a little water to the pot, because as the noodles cook, you may loose juice.

The best part about this recipe is that you don’t have to wait long, and there are no big messy pots to clean at the end.  If you want to go a step further and make up some mashed potatoes, (homemade or instant) and pour the chicken soup over the potatoes.  This makes a good healthy meal anytime and your kids will like it too.
