Storage Sheds

You can try storing you rakes, hoes, and other long handled tools in a metal garbage can. You may want to place a few rocks in the bottom for balance.  You can also attach S hooks to the rim for hanging small tools that would get lost if placed inside.  If you want to bring your tools into the garden, then use a garbage can on wheels.

If you use old five gallon buckets to store lawn and garden supplies such as fertilizer or lime, you’ll want to make sure the kids and pets can not get into it.  For added protection, seal the lid with duct tape.  When you need to get into the bucket, you can cut through it with garden shears.

To keep the padlock on your shed from rusting, cut a flap from an old inner tube big enough to cover the lock and still leave several inches on each side.  Leave enough space beyond the patch to open and close the door easily.  Secure the flap to the door just above the lock by hammering in a row of small nails.

To store your garden hose and keep it safe when not in use, get an old metal bucket and nail it to your shed wall through the bucket bottom.  Wrap the hose around the bucket and store nozzles and sprinklers inside.
