Encourage your family to eat slowly and enjoy the meal.  Eating slowly lets you enjoy the meal and your stomach will have time to tell you that it’s full.

Turn off TV during meals and at snack time.  Use this time to talk to each other. 

Set limits on the Television watching and computer use and encourage more activity. 

Outdoor activities such as walking, running and playing ball all get you moving which will encourage weight loss.

This is a major life style change for you and your family, which will lead to a healthier family.  Always be encouraging and set positive examples.  Being overweight is just setting your children up for loads of medical problems in the future.  Setting this healthy lifestyle for your family will also encourage your children to do the same with their families.  So you are setting a healthy lifestyle up for generations to come.
