If you have letters of recommendation and letters from old employers these are going to come in very handy when you are filling in applications and seeking a new job. Attaching copies of everything possible when you are applying for a job is going to show the employer you are willing to go that extra mile to provide information and for them to learn about you. Keeping a strong push going on your looking for work campaign is going to be important. It is difficult to find a job, but if you are not doing one thing everyday you are slipping. Big gaps on the resume or on the listing of where you have worked in the last few years is going to need some explanation other than you just couldn’t find a job. Finding a job is something that you have to do daily, not just when you have the time between your other daily chores. Large gaps of a few weeks on your resume will give a red flag to the employer who will in turn want an explanation. Think of a good reason or at least details for when you are asked that question if you have been looking for a job for a few weeks now. Keep your resume up to date, and always keep a copy with you. You might find a lead on a job in the supermarket, when visiting with someone, or just when you are at the bank. Having extra copies in a folder in the car is going to save you time when you come upon a lead or when you are on the go, and you have a last minute job interview!
