Do you come home to a mailbox full of junk mail everyday? Are you running out of room in you house for it? Are you tired of getting magazines that you never ordered, and credit card offers and applications that you don’t need? I know that I am tired of filling up my garbage can with all this junk and then worrying that someone else will get my personal information.
I know that it is a long shot of someone going through my garbage, but you just never know. There are ways to stop this kind of junk mail coming to your house everyday, but you know that after awhile, it will just start up again.
I have found what I think to be the easiest and most efficient way of getting rid of all the unwanted magazines that have no interest to you. Most communities have recycling centers and they do take magazines. I always tear the tag with my name and address off first before I take them to the recycling center, this just ensures my privacy and some places asks that you do that anyway.
Also, some recycling centers require you to rip the magazines apart first. This makes it a little easier for them and it only takes a few extra minutes to do. You are getting rid of the unwanted clutter in the house and you are doing something good for the environment. That should make you feel extra good.
Now for the pesky credit card applications and free offers that arrive just about every day in all of our mailboxes. I have found that the best way to get rid of these annoying pieces of mail is to shred them. That’s right; go get yourself a paper shredder. I bought one year ago and thought what am I ever going to do with this?
Well I am so glad that I did. Shred the mail and then either throw it in to your garbage or you can do what most people do once a month anyway, burn them. This way makes you feel so much better and you feel more secure knowing that no one can get your personal information.
