The many uses of WD40

WD 40 is available by several different name brands, the name WD 40 itself is a name brand, but one of the most widely known. It is a miracle tool for mechanics working on vehicles, but there are many uses for it from the house, to the car to the garden! WD 40 is used as a lubricant, to loosen things, to get rust off, to keep bugs away, and to make things shiny.

In this article, I want to tell you a little more about how to use this great product in many ways through your home for success in cleaning, curing and fixing. While there are other companies that may make similar products, there is only one real brand of WD 40, the miracle product.

The name of the product itself comes from one of its uses, which is water displacement. This product is not one that is new to consumers; it was created over fifty years ago in the year 1953 at a rocket company in San Diego California. This product was first meant for use on rockets, and in space programs, but after the company found so many uses for this product, it was then available to consumers.

So to get on with the many uses of WD 40:

Putting a little WD 40 on your fine silver and then rubbing with a soft cloth, your silver will shine and it will be protected from tarnishing.

If you play the guitar, WD 40 can make your guitar strings last longer. Take a cloth, put some WD 40 on it and gently lubricate the strings to make them last longer without cracking.

Your hard to shine floors will shine beautifully when you use WD 40 to polish them. No waxy build up as you have with regular wax, but a shine that will last for weeks.

WD 40 put on a cloth and then on the face or the back of cows will keep flies from landing and annoying these large critters. There is nothing in this product that will hurt the animal itself.

When you have a few chains that are tangled together and difficult to get apart, spray a little WD 40 on them and you can work out that tangle in no time at all.

When your scissors are feeling a little sticky, and they don’t seem to be working good, spray on a little WD 40 in the center where the metal comes together and the scissors will work just great.

Zipper stuck? Rub on a little WD 40 and the zipper is going to work up and down much easier than ever!

Old chalkboards that are not looking their best can be rubbed with a soft cloth covered with WD 40. Let this sit overnight and tomorrow you can use chalk anywhere on that new looking board!

Lipstick stains on counters, floors and on some types of material can be removed with just a few dabs of WD 40.

If your stainless steel sink is looking a bit dull, dry it out, rub WD 40 all over it and watch the shine come right out! This will protect your sink while cleaning it at the same time.

For terra cotta pots that adorn your house and garden, cleaning them with a few sprays of WD 40 and a cloth is going to make them look good as new.
