Redesign Your Children’s Rooms Cheap!

As your children grow the need to change and redesign their room will need some changing also.  Since redesigning can be very costly and not in your budget to make the change why not follow some easy decorating tips that will add a new look to your children’s bedroom for very little money.

First get an idea of the look or design that you want for your child’s room.  Naturally each room would vary from child to child depending on their age or gender.  As each birthday rolls around the need to make changes will be necessary or should I say wanted.  Who wants to spend a fortune on redecorating when you know you’ll just have to redo it.

Once you have the look in mind let your imagination grow.  Although a fresh coat of paint would be nice it isn’t always necessary.  You can always add large stickers in characters that your child picks out.  If the desired stickers are expensive or can’t be found try creating your own fun wall art.  Using a book or a coloring book with your child’s selected character create wall stickers using the computer and sticker paper for the printer.  You also can create flowers, butterflies and etc. out of foam craft paper or felt sheets, which can be hung on the wall with straight pins.  Straight pins can also hang up pictures, wall plaques and other light objects without leaving a large nail hole or needless tape marks.

At your local hardware you’ll find magnetic paint.  This paint can be added to one or all of your child’s bedroom walls.  After the paint has dried you’ll be able to hang any type of magnet.  This type of paint is great for any age; younger children will enjoy hanging magnetic characters on the wall, which could create a mural look while older children could play checkers, or other fun games on the wall.

Now that the walls are in order lets go for the bedding ensemble.  Take a look at your current bedding and how much it set you back.  Make changes but don’t break the bank by doing so.  Sheets can often be purchased at discount bargain stores in solid colors so pick out a solid color that will best match your child’s selection.  You can always add a few fun characters by purchasing some fabric with your child’s character on it.  Transfer these characters onto the solid sheets by cutting out the character and using fusible iron on transfer paper.  You can also purchase enough fabric to sew a corresponding pillow sham.
