Making Your Days Longer

Do you feel that your days are running to short, that you can’t seem to get enough done everyday like you used to be able to do? You can make your days longer, get more done every day and feel like you have really accomplished something if you put a bit more organization and strategy into your day. While not all these ideas and tips are for everyone, and every situation, there are surely some that you can use to put more into your day!

Ask for help – if you are overwhelmed with too many children, working too long of hours or if your are just feeling under the weather, don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends, family or your mother. Asking for short term help can get your out of a bind and help you feel refreshed fast.

Getting up earlier – if you are having trouble staying on top of everything that you have to do in life, all the cleaning, cooking, chores, work and more get up a little earlier in the morning. Even getting up just half an hour earlier in the morning when you can get that extra time to iron your clothes, have a long hot bath, do the dishes, polish your nails, or walk the dog, it all adds more to your day and you feel better having accomplished more.

Staying up later while getting up earlier can be difficult, sometimes staying  up just fifteen minutes to put the clothes away, to do the dishes, feed the cats, to polish your nails, to scrub your calluses, to check your email, to shave, to write a note to your spouse, that few minutes is what helps you finish off your day with grace and feeling as if you have gotten just one more thing done that you don’t have to do in the morning.

Do it as you think of it – if you are able to tackle things as they come your way and put off procrastinating, you will find that you will accomplish more in your day. It is a tough habit to break but breaking the procrastination habit can be done and you can accomplish more. Say you need to clean the bathroom but a movie is on. Just clean on the commercials. You don’t have to do it all at one time, but spread it out while you are doing something else and you will get more done. Need to walk the dog? Walk the dog now, and then work on making sure your laundry is finished up. You will get more done in shorter amounts of time if you tackle all the little jobs as they ‘come up’.
