Cleaning houses is a very big business and a great way for anyone to make some money. There are lots of people that are too busy or can not be bothered to clean their own house.
That is really good news, but also bad news because that means that there is a lot of competition out there. You have to make a good name for yourself and keep up your good reputation. Some of the chores that people need done for them in their homes are the following:
Dusting, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, scrubbing carpets, cleaning showers and bathrooms, cleaning ovens and cabinets, and washing windows or cleaning the outside of their house.
The list can go on an on. Some of the homeowners may expect you to wash their dishes or hang clothes on the line. Some people try and clean up their house a little before you get there to clean, they do this so that you do not think that they are as messy as they really are. Don’t be fooled. Special Cleaning Tips
Do not use too much polish on wooden furniture. A thorough rub with a cloth, dabbed with a tiny amount of polish will bring the best out of the wood.
Do not automatically wash or wipe wallpaper. Some wallpaper may react to water or some cleaning solutions. The best way to test whether it is safe to clean a particular type of wallpaper is to clean a tiny part of it, preferably a part that is hidden from general view.
Most oven cleaning solutions are dangerous. Follow the instructions exactly and avoid breathing the solution or allowing it to touch your skin.
Marketing
If you know someone in your neighborhood who is moving out of their rented house, offer to clean the house for them. In order to claim back the money they left as a bond against damage or unpaid rent, they have to make sure the house has been properly cleaned. Given that they have to pack up, move and then unpack at the new house.
