Homemade Beauty Aids
Avg. Visitors Review (4.0 Stars):

We can spend lots of money on the beauty care products that we  want or need to help keep our skin looking healthy and us more youthful.  We do not need to go to the department store or pharmacy for some of these expensive must haves.

We can make most of these products at home with everyday ingredients that we already have in our house.

For your Face

Milk can be used for more than your cereal or coffee now.  If you run out of makeup remover, you can put three tablespoons of powdered milk in a jar with about one third cup warm water, put the lid on tight and shake away.

The mixture will become heavy like cream and then add more water or milk if necessary.  Wipe it on with a facecloth and then wipe it off with warm water.  This works great and does not smell nasty or dry your face out like the chemicals that we normally use.  A great way to tone your face is to wipe it with a wet tea bag.  The tannin in tea is an effective astringent.

To wash your face you can make a honey oatmeal mix.  Grind two tablespoons of dry oats in your blender then add two tablespoons of honey to it.  You then massage it in and then rinse it off.  Oatmeal acts as a sloughing agent and scrubs away your dead skin.  Eggs make a great facial mask for dry and oily skin.  It is easy to make.

Break an egg, separate the yolk and the white, and beat each gently.  If you have dry skin spread the yolk on and it will moisturize and use the white on oily skin because it will tighten it up.  Another good agent to use is salt.  This also makes a wonderful body and facial scrub.  Just sprinkle a little in your hands and gently rub it into your body.

For the Rest of Your Body

Vitamin E is great for your skin.  If you look at the ingredients in most of the lotions in the store, you will probably find that they have at least some vitamin E in them.  E promotes healing and softens skin.

To prove this if you prick a vitamin E capsule with a pin and squeeze out what you need and rub it into your skin.  If you do not empty the capsule, the hole will heal itself and you can use the remaining oil another time.
