Grilling Out With Your Family

I don’t know about you but this is my favorite time of year!  My kitchen gets a break for the summer.  We all enjoy cooking out on the grill since the kitchen seems so hot.  That’s not the only reason I enjoy cooking out the clean up is so easy when grilling.  Follow some easy steps to make your grilling experience easy from the first step right up to the last step, which includes cleaning up.

First purchase the items in which you are planning on using on the grill.  The grill isn’t only for your hamburgers and hotdogs.  You can grill a whole meal right there on your grill without any hassle.  Remember clean up after grill is simple and done in just minutes.

Defrost any meat in which you have frozen and are planning to use on the grill.  Safely defrost the meats by refrigerating this will allow the meats to slowly defrost with out the worry of spoiling.  Be sure to completely defrost the meat so grilling will be done evenly throughout the meat.  For quick defrost heat the grill and defrost your meat in the microwave while the grill is heating up.  Immediately start grill the microwave defrosted meat.

Marinating your meat and vegetables are a great idea for an unbelievable flavor.  I usually marinate my meat and vegetables over night in separate containers.  The longer you marinate your meat the better the flavor.  Never reuse marinade seasoning once raw meat has been placed in it.  If you use marinade during the grilling process be sure to reserve some before marinating the meat in it.  Never marinate your meat on the counter always place the marinade in the refrigerator.

Always keep your food cold by using insulated carrying cases with ice packs.  Use a cooler to ensure your meats won’t spoil until you are ready to grill.  Use separate coolers for drinks since that cooler will be opened and reopened continuously.

Never use the same platters or utensils on your cooked meat that you have used on raw meat.  Uncooked meats and poultry juices have harmful bacteria that can contaminate cooked food.  Sharing these utensils between cooked and uncooked foods will spread these contaminants.
