We’ve all been there and hate it when an unexpected guest calls to say they’ll be right over or even worse the in-laws!!! It seems that when the house is clean and perfect nobody drops in then but it never fails that when the house is a mess someone will drop in by surprise. We all know that it isn’t the first or last time that it’ll happen and it’ll happen to the best of us. With kids you’ll have chaos and us a messy house but I wouldn’t have it any other way would you?
What can we do to get our house in shape in such a short amount? We can’t really do anything is somebody stops by without calling except clean our way to the door but if an unexpected visitor calls ahead to say that they’ll be right over than with just fifteen minutes notice you can have your house looking great. Test run this someday just to see how great this plan works plus you’ll have a clean house in just a short period of time.
At your next shopping trip purchase a few items to have on hand if you don’t already have the following:
- All-purpose cleaner wipes – these wipes have the cleanser absorb in the wipe so there is no need to mess around with buckets, cleaning solutions or water. The other great thing about the all-purpose cleaning wipes is that they can go from the counter tops to the table and into the bathroom without bother to switch since the formula is designed to clean all surfaces.
- A sweeper that goes from carpeting to bare floors. A wireless type will also save time messing around with wires and plugs. Since this type of sweeper goes from carpet to hard floor surface you will be able to cover all floor surfaces without handling brooms and dustpans.
- A wet swifter type floor cleaner – use on hard floor surfaces to clean up any spots on the floor.
- Glass wipe cleaners – for use on the glass on the front of the TV, glass oven fronts, glass end table tops and other glass surfaces.
- A few big plastic cases – these cases will be helpful when cleaning up clutter and toys.
